The humanoid robot landscape visible to a UK buyer in 2026 is more active than it was two years ago, but it remains a market in formation rather than a mature one. No platform is plug-and-play ready for general commercial deployment. Each serves a different buyer profile, and choosing poorly means buying an expensive research asset you cannot use rather than a tool that does work.

This comparison is organised around what matters to a UK buyer: who the platform is genuinely for, what it realistically costs once landed in the UK, and whether you can actually obtain one. All specifications and prices are as reported or widely estimated; they are not independently verified by this site. UK landed costs in particular are estimates and must be confirmed with resellers or customs brokers before purchase.

The right question to ask first

The most common mistake in this market is starting with "which robot is best" rather than "what do I need this robot to do." The platforms below are not interchangeable. A logistics enterprise evaluating warehouse automation and a university lab evaluating bipedal locomotion algorithms need fundamentally different things, and a robot well-suited to one of those needs is not well-suited to the other.

Before reading the comparison below, confirm your answer to these three questions:

  • What is the intended application? Research and development, enterprise logistics automation, demonstration and events, or something else? The answer determines which tier of platform is relevant.

Cost tier: Developer entry-level. Base price reported at approximately USD 16,000. UK landed cost (including freight, import duty and 20% VAT) is estimated to be materially higher; treat GBP 15,000 to GBP 20,000 as a rough planning figure, to be confirmed with a UK reseller or customs broker.

UK availability: Purchasable. Unitree accepts international orders direct. A small number of UK resellers are establishing supply relationships. This is the most accessible humanoid purchase option for a UK buyer today.

Best for: Research labs, university robotics programmes, developer teams with in-house ROS 2 competence who need a capable bipedal platform for algorithm development and evaluation.

Not suitable for: Any buyer without engineering resource; any buyer expecting a turnkey application-ready product; enterprise deployment without a bespoke integration programme.

UK support: Limited. Some UK resellers are developing support offering. Manufacturer support is remote from China. Parts availability in the UK is improving but not comprehensive.

Unitree H1

Manufacturer: Unitree Robotics (China)

Cost tier: Above the G1; targeting more demanding research and early enterprise evaluation. Exact pricing varies; publicly available figures suggest materially above the G1 base price. UK landed cost not verified; get a current quote.

UK availability: Purchasable via the same routes as the G1. UK reseller landscape is the same.

Best for: Teams that have evaluated the G1 tier and need greater performance, payload or operational envelope. Research institutions and enterprises running advanced manipulation or mobility trials.

Not suitable for: First-time humanoid buyers; buyers without prior experience operating a bipedal research platform.

Manufacturer: Figure AI (USA)

Cost tier: Enterprise. Not available as a catalogue purchase. Commercial terms are negotiated directly with Figure and are reported to be in the range of USD 100,000+ per unit for enterprise deployments, though specific pricing is not publicly confirmed. UK pricing: NOT VERIFIED.

Boston Dynamics Atlas

Manufacturer: Boston Dynamics (USA)

Cost tier: Research and advanced demonstration. Not available for standard commercial sale; Boston Dynamics works with select enterprise and research partners.

UK availability: Through Boston Dynamics' partner and enterprise programme. Boston Dynamics has UK distribution relationships through their Spot quadruped programme; humanoid Atlas availability follows a different, more restricted path.

The honest advice in 2026 is to wait. No platform is ready for a non-technical consumer buyer in the UK today. The Unitree G1 is the most accessible entry point, but it still requires significant engineering resource. Consumer-ready humanoid robots with appropriate UK support, pricing and safety certification are not realistically expected before 2028 at the earliest.

Developer or technologist building applications
